I used it many years ago but it will not work on most of the really problematic algae like turf, byopsis, or green hair. It's just a band-aide anyway. Too many nutrients/too much lighting are generally the causes which need to be addressed . Algaecides are poisons and not good long term in your reef.
I just started using it to clean up a turf algae that none of my fish or clean up crew would eat. It's been a week and 4 doses and it's decimated it. There are no apparent side effects so far, and I plan on only using it until I get the turf algae under control. It is a bandaid if you don't have good nutrient removal, but I do, but the turf algae was out competing the chaeto, way oversized skimmer, uv, carbon and gfo.

I used it it worked great. My hair algae was thick and always grew back ; using Algaefix within a short period of time and some easy manual cleaning it was gone.
Then I tried an ATS and that never worked, do to Alagefix being in the system. I use chaeto now and it works great.

I've used it in the past with good results. Nothing harmed using it.
Not sure, there are old threads with different people's experiences, but I can only talk to mine. I would do a Google search, as there is a thread with a couple dozen pages out there. It is fairly selective, as some smooth hair turf algae is actually growing well, chaeto and halmedia are doing good. Glass algae is a little less, but not much.
