Algagen Tisbe Pods and Ammonia

I just bought an 8oz bottle of Algagen tisbe pods from the LFS and tested the ammonia on the water from the bottle and I’m getting 0.5ppm ammonia. I’m thinking I should just discard this bottle and get pods and macro from a local source.

Am I overthinking this?

You're over thinking. even if you dumped the whole thing into say a 30g tank, (if my math is correct) would raise your tank's ammonia by 0.001ppm. 30 gallon has 3840oz or 480x the volume of the bottle we're talking about so. .5 / 480 = 0.00104......
