So, long story short, I have green water. This is for the second time.
The first time, I was doing large water changes, cut back my display lighting, increased my refugium lighting, cut back on feeding, and that helped a LOT. But, what really killed it, was I bought a uv sterilizer off Amazon. SunSun brand, roughly $40 if I remember right. Problem is, I dont want to use the uv again, after removing it, I went to clean it for storage as I don't particularly want to run one as my tank is sumpless (hob skimmer and fuge),and I saw urn marks on the bulb, so to the garbage it went as I'm not risking that in my tank.
I'm doing the same things as before, water changes every day, cutting back on feeding, etc, but I've been fighting it for three days now and it's still there. What else besides buying another uv can I do? My corals are still fine, but a couple (mostly my trumpets) look ticked.
36 gal, roughly 1 gal fuge with a bag of chemipure elite in it (also has filter floss on the intake and the coming out) running two kessil 160we, a kessil flora on fuge.
Amm 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2
Mag 1260
Calc 400
Alk 9.2
Edit: First time it happened tank lost power for.. 2-3 hours (I had power heads on an extension cord however. But it started very, very shortly after, that afternoon. Don't know if that matters.
