I have a Cobalt CVUE 40 gallon tank. It has been up and running over a year now. I am looking to add another fish to my tank. One that preferably would peck at hair algae and would be comfortable with the current inhabitants I have. I should preface this that my tank randomly gets specs of hair algae that I manually pull off when I clean tank. Its not a full blown outbreak or anything of that nature. I just want to see if their is a fish out there that would nip at the algae from time to time. Thanks for any suggestions

My tanks stocking is:
2 Clown Fish
Six Line Wrasse
Tail Spot Blenny
Aphtasia eating file fish.
Green Chromis

In my humble opinion your tank is maxed out, maybe even border line ovestocked. any more bioload just becomes problematic for you to keep things in check and clean. But I tend to enjoy lightly stocked tanks, just personal choice.

In this case I’d recommend a urchin, and a bunch of snails. They are awesome algae eaters!

I agree with this, a lot of the fish you have get rather large already, if you wanted more then it would’ve been better to go with fish that top at 3 inch with one that gets four inch.
