I have green algea growing on all surfaces of my tank. Don't know what kind it is and if it's good or bad. Can anyone help?

I’m assuming your tank is new? Looks like green hair algae to me, pretty standard.

Will some snails do the trick? My clean up is only 4 crabs at the moment. I am also adding chaeto tomorrow. Light is on for 12 hours currently. Yes it's a new tank.

What sort of light do you have and how large is the tank? Also, do you know your parameters? I have snails, blue legged hermits, and a tuxedo urchin in my tank. The tuxedo mows everything down, the snails like film algae the best, and the hermits will eat anything.

it’s important to remember that the first few months of your tank are commonly referred to as “the uglies”. You will see all sorts of nastyness grow in there as your tank starts to find its balance. Don’t overreact, try to guide your tank instead of control it. Over time, and with good maintenance habits, things will begin to look better.

Bryopsis plumosa.

13.5G Evo

It's 12 days old.
Salinity .022
Temp 78
Ph 8.1
Ammonia, nitrate, nitrite all 0

Bryopsis +1
Reduce white lights and increase Blues and add clean up crew ( Turbo grazer, astrea, Trochus and margarita)
Liquid vibrant will also rid of this but tank appears new, so not yet on vibrant

Try to get your salinity to 1.025 ( Add saltwater instead of freshwater for a while)
Once you do, I would begin adding some more CUC. No fish or corals for at least a month, but the other params are good. Do you have a way to check your alkalinity?

And, do you have an ATO?

Agree with @vetteguy53081 on reducing the white and increasing blue.

Also, reef cleaners is a great site for ordering a CUC.

I do not have a alkalinity tester nor a ATO. Auto top off?

I'm getting hardly any evaporation because of the hood. So what I can do is a small water change and refill with a higher salinity.
