hi,

Does anyone have any idea what this algea may be. I'm leaning towards dinos but I could be wrong.

Thanks

Does it blow off the rocks easy? How old is the tank? IME, dinos form long brown strings instead of fuzzy stuff on rocks.

thanks for your reply. Its really difficult to get off I literally have had to scrub it with a tooth brush and even then it leaves some behind. Tank is around 6 months

Verify your nitrates and phosphates. Are you buy chance using tap water from the sink?
You have what is known as Green Turf Algae which refers to different species of macroalgae that describe certain similar characteristics. They are coarse, wiry, and generally have thicker wider blades than Green Hair Algae. They may or may not have a mat like root structure, sometimes they just seem to sprout from the rock.
Turf algae that sprouts directly from the rock can be a pain to control, as it is difficult if not impossible to pluck it all. Once discovered it should be treated outside of the aquarium, perhaps by dipping the affected rock or frag in water treated with an algaecide or peroxide.
Clean up Crew members that will eat Green Turf Algae are urchins, chitons, and emerald crabs. Blue leg hermits and turbo grazers may help.

Nitrates and phosphate have literally just been double tested and results are in the photo.

I use RODI water for ATO and my salt water is mixed with RODI. My water containers are cleaned after every use with a small amount of bleach.

Sorry I missed your first reply. The TDS is zero, the LFS I get my salt and RO water from is a friend. He uses the water in his systems and they are immaculate, probably the cleanest I've ever seen. The shop is his passion and he charges the extra premium for the quality.

Its impossible for me to clean the rocks outside my aquarium as they are glued! I can't have snails or crabs in the tank as my partner can't stand them, she says it gives her the creeps!

Do you have any other ideas.

fluconasal or liquid vibrant

I conquer on Vibrant. Make sure you get the Reef version. It takes a number of weeks, but it works.
