Looking to get either a reactor or scrubber for a 120,which do you think is the better option?was looking at the new tunze reactor and I like simplicity, the scubbers look more of a pain, set up cleaning etc,any advice?.

Depends on needs and set up.
Ats can remove more nutrients faster, and does more for aeration.
Reactor is quieter and causes less evap

They both really do the same basic function. Get one that fits where you want to place it and you're done.

I like the size and containment of a reactor, but the results of a scrubber. Also, chaeto sometime slimes up, or depletes iron which you may have to test for and dose.

So, I have converted a reactor into a scrubber. Just got my first signs of hair algae growing in it after 8 days (I did seed it by rubbing GHA on the screen, although it wasn’t much).

Hey Mike, I recognize that reactor! :D Love the mods you’ve made to it.

Here’s my Turbo’s Aquatics L2 ATS that I run for my relatively new 57 rimless. It sits atop my Trigger 26 sump. Endplate is removed so you can see it better. On my new tank, it took some time for the screen to mature, but it’s finally there. The Turbo’s ATS design allows you to dial in the intensity so you don’t overstrip the nutrients in your tank. Because of my relatively small tank size, I’m only running it at 25% intensity. So far, so good!

It's really quite simple ...if you are getting ready to get a sump get the refugium built in...if you already have a sump without one or don't have room for a sump with one then get the scrubber or reator.

I had a reactor it would grow good for about a month then slowly die off it was a pain I tried it 4 different times I tried it in my refugium same thing died off so I left the light on and grew a ton of hair algea in my refugium its been great other than a mess to clean so now im switching over to a scrubber just for ease of cleaning
