So i have some slime algea gowing on my sand bed and i siphoned out some of it today and did a 20% water change but i was going to use a net to get the rest and i was looking for some tips on dooing that without disterbing the sand to much so it dosent harm my fish

The best way to combat slime algae is reduce the excess nutrients that is feeding the algae. What size tank, inhabitants, feeding schedule, lighting and photoperiod?

55gal with 2 clowns 1 blue damsel I chocklet chip star 2 snails 1 peppermint shrimp and they get fed once a day with 12 hrs of light and what is photo period

Removing the algae does not do much and actually will increase growth in other parts of the tank. The algae you are removing is consuming nutrients in the water. Removing the algae will increase those nutrients creating a viscious cycle of algae. Like SeaHorseKeeper said, find the root problem of why you have excess nutrients and fix that. You could also build an algae scrubber.

Twelve hours is a fairly long photo period, you might want to cut that back a few hours. You can try running lights off for about three days, if you can cover the tank with a blanket to block ambient light also. You must also figure out why the algae is growing in the first place so you can correct it, or the algae will come back in a couple days. I suspect over feeding, try using a turkey baster to
feed the fish so you know all of the food is getting eaten.

Are you not learning from what we have been posting? You have to start using ro water and quit feeding your fish too much. Your problem will not fix itself over night. You need to take measures now and be patient.

i used ro water in my water change last night and im going to get some more today to do another water change and any feeding ubjestions so i know im not over feeding

Only feed enough where the fish will eat all of the food within two minutes. Never let food hit the bottom. Fish only need a little bit of food once a day. If you follow this you will have less problems in the long run.

I was thinking the same thing that it may have started a new cycle from the move because when i moved it i did loose my coral beauty
