Is this just algea or is it something else. Dark brown, thick, nothing in my tank seems to eat it, attached, always grows back same spot.

Im confused because my nitrates are 4 ppm and my phospherous is 2ppb or 0.01 ppm phosphate and yet it still grows, but thats understandable.

How old is your tank?

Can you blow it away with a baster?

Tank was 6 months but I added a new piece of dry rock.

I can blow some of the brown away which I know is not algea. Bit this other stuff is anchored. I was thinking like a turf algea but it is dark dark brown.

The bottom of my rocks are also covered in white fuzz .25" to .5" long. But from forums no one really seems to know what this is. Im not concerened with it though I chaulk it up to new tank.

I would guess either just some algae or thick diatoms feeding off silicates in the new dry rock. Wouldn't worry at this point.

White fuzz is probably a bacteria bloom. Any chance you spray air fresheners or other cleaners near the tank? Or any sort of carbon dosing?

Yeah.

I figure fuzz is bacteria, wife likes scented candles and thats what ive gathered on other forums as well.
