looks like diatoms indeed! Will go away after it has consumed the elevated silicates in your new tank.

You are just going through the “uglies stage”. Keeping the lights of will help to not get a tank full of GHA.

Don’t worry it’s normal and will solve itself in a few weeks time!

I’ve seen worse Once your tank is cycled, the clean up crew will take care of the rocks. I have a diamond watchman goby that keeps the sand spotless. Pics: My tank during the uglies (got worse but no pics including GHA), and a pic of how it looks now. Some intentional algae growth due to higher nutrients for my kole tang.
