I have had my aquarium for about a year now and everything is going great in it (except a decorator crab that likes to cut up some of my plants) and a black alien egg that has recently burst.
I have seen the little guy back there since I started the tank but just assumed it was a black marble that was somehow grown into the live rock. As I was away for a 5 day backpacking trip I don't know when it burst but all that's left is a thin transparent shell. It has gotten bigger over time but I assumed it was a difference of angle being as I moved the particular rock it was residing in/on.
There have been no apparent changes in the tank and I have not seen any new life forms or inhabitants.
Any one know what just happened, or what this is/was??
oh:
I will post a.. Um... Post burst pic tomorrow.
