I've got a frag of alien pox cyphastrea. It seems to be growing pretty well but I've noticed the new growth looks pale and thin right now. My concern is it's getting bleached. The original frag colors look good it's just the new growth. I've got it halfway up the tank prObably 18" or so beneath an AI prime. Any info you guys could share would be awesome!

A little better pic for color reference

Looks perfectly normal to me with regard to the new growth. If the main frag has retained it's coloration, I do not see why new growth would loss color, it's just building tissue and skeleton.

That's great to hear! Pretty much what I assumed and I was excited that it started some new growth! Thanks for the reply

Agree with tahoe. In my experience, cyphastrea always puts out this thin growth ring before it mounds a bit. Looks like it's actually growing quite quickly based on the ring size

Yeah I've had it for 4 months or so but all that new growth has only happened over the last month or two.
