Hey everyone. Anyone has any clue what’s this in my tank? These guys appear out of nowhere. They have a mollusk look. They have one long tentacle (not fully extended in the pic) and they seem to be on the hunt for the pods which have recently exploded after I removed all fish. I have to admit I did get some wild corals recently. BFF0230C-D5DA-4786-9299-D259A29735F3.jpeg FADAEAF2-54E9-44EF-9DF9-51861D41F657.jpeg 9C2A607C-7A20-4BC9-94E8-12BADFF6ADBB.jpeg

Hard to tell from the pic, but they look like amphipods to me. They will most certainly hunt copepods.
He's talking about the stalk like worm. I really don't know what they are. But I had a few of them. Didn't seem like a pest and eventually it died. Or, my fish ate it.

I was wondering if he meant the amphipod, or the stalk/worm like thing.
For the last 6 months I have been searching for an ID on those worms. They are stationary and graze around their surroundings. Sadly, I think my wrasse ate them all.

I have them in my sump out all day, and display only at night. I have wrasses as well, check your display at night.

Yes I mean the worm like creature. I guess the video was not uploaded. Here’s a link to YouTube guys
After watching it, and seeing it has polyp like structure, I would say remove it. It could be digitate hydroids you do not want in your system.

Edit: unless you can turn off flow and see if they move on their own. If it can't move on its own. Hydriod. Toss it. If it moves around looking for food, don't worry about it.

They are all out of sight. I knew where they were, now they are gone. I am always night watching the tank. You never know who's going to reveal themselves.
The sump only has some small snails, lots of pods and some sponge.

Yes so far I haven’t seen them move, but I am worried cz that tank is full of sps and i did notice a small white patch develop on an Anacropora base where that tentacle exactly happened to touch. Good to know that wrasses can control the situation.

I will keep a close eye if they move. But since you mentioned hydroids, here’s pic from same tank . I think these are hydroids ?

I wish here’s some more pics (smaller size)

And one more video

First photo I can't tell. Second photo is digitate hydroids Might want to look into those. Some people say they cycle out. I would assume since you run an sps system, it's over 6 months mature. If those have recently popped up with any recent purchases, I wouldn't worry.
If they have been growing, you may need to start removing pieces and do a little bit of tooth brush scrubbing.

Update: this creature has taken over the tank. It’s pretty much everywhere on plugs, Glue, egg crate, power heads. Looks like this is a hydroid that goes by the name Candelabrum.

I would like some assistance on how to get rid of this please or hydroids in general. I am willing to experiment a bit before I travel next week. I have only corals in the tank.

manual removal. It's painful hobby with so many look a likes. I know dwarf angels eat a lot of hydriods.
Any chance Dinos will help? I’m having a second outbreak. Not sure if it’s related, but I noticed the hydroids did appear after the I won’t the first battle with dinos
