Aliens? What's going on here?

Hey Reef2Reef!

My reef tank is approaching 9 months old. I looked into the refugium, passed the chaeto, and found what almost looked like a scene from Alien (pictures attached). Any info would be appreciated! I understand that they are most likely a sponge of sort. Are they good/bad? Tips/ advice welcome and appreciated!

Usually as fare as I know and I am no expert sponges in sump not casing issues

Those are good aliens. They do a lot of good things for corals in a reef tank!
