Alk being used up!! AF ALK, CA, MAG

Hi There.

So I think my tank demands are to much for what I'm dosing. I just keep putting in alk and I can't get pass 6.5 . My question is what is my next step to get my alk up for my tank demands?? Please help??

What are you using to test your alk, and what are you currently dosing?

Hannah checker for alk. I'm dosing aquaforest alk about half cap twice a day I was up to 3 times a day but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I just bought a small bottle about a week ago and its already gone.

What size tank? it states that 2 tsp should be able to raise your alk by .5 in 27 gallons of water. if you're dumping in a half a cup twice a day...something isn't right. Are you dosing equal amounts of calcium?

Yes I does equal amount of calcium also. sometimes just once a day though .

What is the tank? 12ml is probably not enough

Wow, great looking tank I can see why it would be using a CAP full a day You may be correct, your tank has outgrown your dosing solution. May want to consider bumping up to a 2 part. I just recently switched my tank to the brs 2 part. My tank is taking about 30ML a day

It is, but instead of a small bottle. you're able to make a gallon of solution at a time, and its relatively inexpensive. The soda ash and calcium powder are 8 bucks each and makes a gallon (3785ml), whereas your aquaforest is 8 bucks for only 150ML

Ya man, how big is a cap? you're gonna need more than that. Nice looking stuff. It soaking up way more than that.

Your not throwing it away. youre adding a little, and they are using it fast as you add it

When you start adding more keep it slow, dont raise it fast, take weeks or more to get it up

So if until I get two part do I just use more then what they say to use in a day because they tel you not to dose over a certain amount in a day ?
