Im looking to start 2 part dosing. I have been using a kalk reactor for a while now but am unhappy with it and feel I can get better results with dosing. I was considering a calc reactor but i really don't have the room for all that equipment.
Can you share your thoughts on calc/alk dosing... product and how to?

thanks so much

Why are you not happy with the kalk reactor?

some days it seems to dose more than it should and some days doses less. Since the water in my tank evaporates differently on some days depending on the weather, my ATO which is connected to the kalk pours either too much or not enough. id rather just Dose manually but would prefer calc reactor i just don't have all the room necessary for it. Oh and don't wanna spend 3-400 buck on it. lol so i figured 2 part dose would be best option for me.

Okay. I was told that we dont need to worry too much about dosing too much with kalk, because as the ph and alklainity raises so does calcification. But I understand your worry, its one of mine too.

Has alk got too high?

yea, with the kalk reactor i seem to have to many all swings.. days that i add more talk to reactor i get huge kalk spikes, some days water evaporates more and i get kalk spikes. I just am not a fan of that. I want consistency.

Okay, it seems that a calcium reactor is the best "set it and forget it" system. Based on what others say. It requires less tinkering than all of them. You can get small co2 tanks to fit in your stand. Should be able to replace the kalk reactor. And if you sell it , it should reduce the cost of the calcium reactor.

How big is your tank? What are your calc/alk/mag levels you have and what's your target?
