Welcome to R2R.....:)
Can you please elaborate how you are dosing all those? What is your total system volume? Are you preparing component 123 by mixing these and then dosing or just adding these directly.

thanx foe responding i have a 72gap display with a 30 gal sump 2 brs dosing pumps run by a ceribra im using the aquaforest balling method with components strong and a core 5th magnetic stirrer. i dose the mineral salt with a seringe. l have 10 sps and softys, and a maxima. my protine skimmer is plumed outside air and i dose 5 mil every 3 houres 4 times at night with calc, alkk 1.5 hour apart.

Can you please explain how you are mixing up the components strong to prepare balling solutions? Are you dosing them directly from the bottle or you are preparing component 123 from them.

is this what you mean
container 1
af calcium-dissolve 50g in 1000ml deionized water
af magnesium-10g
component A strong 5ml
component B strong 5ml

container 2
af kh buffer- 80g in1000ml di water
component C strong 5ml

container 3
af mineral salt- 25g 1000ml di water
component K strong 5ml
sorry for being unclear in my last post i got this (recepe from my lfs

Ok, what is alk in fresh salt water? Also cut the alk dose/ component 2 to half. Keep checking the alk every 24 hour and let me know. What is your Mg level?

fresh water, i dont test mg but ill pick up a kit this weekend. thank you for advice

i use the exact same system you do (aquaforrests dry products and component strong) and what worked for me was testing my alkalinity at a point in the day where i positive i could be around to test alkalinity again 24 hours later and in that period i didn't dose anything and in doing so you get an idea of your tanks consumption rate. start your desired dose and then test again 24 hours later to see if the level needs to be decreased/increased or hopefully close to where you need it.
i chose to focus on alkalinity because maintaining its level is more crucial than the Ca, Mg mix and rapid drops will cause bleaching events more rapidly.
also, you may not end up with a perfect 420Ca, 8.4kH and 1350Mg. i had slightly elevated Ca,Mg at first which wasn't ideal but still within the normal range. this method is also designed to be used in 3 equal parts so i don't recommend adjusting the doses individually.
one last thing, you're going to want to tinker the levels as little as possible as changing them all the time is causing minor instability and stress.
