Alk check button failing after 1 year light use

Has anyone else had this experience? The 1 button that controls the check is failing on my unit. Purchase in July 16. I have been very careful and gentle in use. Contacted Hanna and they said the unit only has 6 month warranty.

No I have had mine for almost 3 years of daily use. Surprised it only has a 6 month warranty though, makes me think I should probably order a new one.....
