For the past several weeks I have been dosing 20ml of two part. I was guessing when I started to dose. My alk levels climbed by .01 parts every couple days. On Sunday i decided to check my daily consumption and stopped dosing. On Sunday my alk was 7.9. Around the same time on Monday it was 7.72. On Tuesday it was 7.39 and today it’s at 7.11. Can anyone assist with daily consummation and how much two I should be adding? At this rate was the 20ml daily be correct?

Test every day before you dose. If it is trending down, then add more... or the opposite.

Anywhere in that 7 to 8 range should be OK.

Yep it's really hard to keep it spot on with 2 part it will swing a little which is ok. I run kalk with my 2 part in my top off as it runs way more than my two part keeping it a bit more consistant.

What I am trying to determine is based on the consumption number presented how many ml should I be adding or is 20 ml a day ok based on consumption

Well. I usually figure out where to start by picking a number and testing it every two - three days and see where it is. If it's high.. decrease vice versa. also try to be precise when replicating your testing procedures

Why did you stop dosing 20 mL per day? Wasn't that maintaining your alkalinity right where you wanted it?

There is no "right" number of carbonate to dose every day. Each tank has different consumption rates due to different livestock and abiotic precipitation rates. If 20 mL per day was maintaining your levels about where you wanted, continue to dose that.
