ok I heard from someone that there is a guy from china or japan that is making an alk controller that like if you want it to stay at 7 you put in 7 and its suppose to stay there. I heard this guy has kept his alk steady with no change for 9 months straight. now im saying I just heard this and I don't know a lot about this or found anything on this but what do you guys think about it?

I don't see how he is measuring alkalinity for a controller. There's no probe for alkalinity. So I' skeptical unless it is a very sophisticated machine that does its own titration or spectroscopy.

Very true in some sort, first it's not from China or Japan, second you still have to test but once you got it set you can forget, PS................... even though I would STILL do a weekly test.

DaStaCo calcium reactor is an automatic calcium dissolving beast

This seems like a good step forward in the world of CaRx, looking forward to hearing more about this product and it ability to maintain Ca and Alk levels for extended periods.

That is not an alkalinity controller any more than adding the same dose of two part or limewater every day is automatic control.

Note from the link you posted:

"You will need to maintain outside testing of the parameters to get the system dialed in for your particular reef needs."

That's what I said quote (second you still have to test but once you got it set you can forget, PS................... even though I would STILL do a weekly test.)

Still a awesome piece of equipment.

Possibly, yes. Not sure of the advantage over other methods, though, except maybe long term cost. :)
