My tank has been established since jan and I'm still having problems with Ca, Alk and Kh. The only thing I'm dosing is Natureef calcium. It comes with magnesium and other things but i can't get the Calcium up to where i need it and while I'm trying to get the calcium up the only thing that's really climbing is Alk and KH. Cal and Mag ate both low. I'm going to stop dosing Natureef but what do you guys recommend for getting for getting my reef parameters under control.

I would say switching to a quality 2-Part solution would be a good idea. Test your levels and get your Mg to an acceptable range so you can better maintain your Ca and dKH. Depending on your tank size, one of the best solutions I've found to quickly raise and maintain Magnesium is Aquavitro Ions. ESV 2-Part and Reef Fusion by Seachem are both great 2-Part additives

I find that dripping Kalk is a great way to keep Calcium and Alk stable while keeping a higher PH. You do have to watch MG and does separately though. I use BRS 2 Part Mg for that. If your tank is new and you dont have many hard corals, you dont need to be dosing anything. A quality salt mix with regular water changes will suffice just fine. I feel like dosing and supplementing is the bane of many new aquarists as people jump right in to doing it before their tank needs it and before they have a basic understanding of their tank and it's chemistry.
