Alk dosing pump off for two and a half days; dKH 5.3

So, the good news is I have a pretty good idea of what my alk usage is now.

I shut my pump off via my controller on Friday night for maintenance and apparently forgot to turn it back on. Alk went down to 5.3. I'll slowly bring it back up over the next week to 8 dKH.

Question: Should I expect any ill effects?

I definitely need to start thinking about a CO2 reactor and get away from dosing. . .

I did almost the same thing but did not get quite as low as you did, close though (6.1). I brought mine back up very slowly and did not see much in the way of anything wrong during the process, outside of some of my acans we seriously angry. The few acros I have and all my LPS/Clams still looked good.

How does everything in your tank look right now compared to before the drop?

Actually it was my Tyree true undata that looked a little "off". Color seemed a little weird and the polyps were almost withdrawn which is a rarity, so I performed a quick test. Everything else looks fine.

I am no expert, as I have killed everything I have at least once lol. I also have some montis in my tank, but just the basic ones that could live in a sump, and they showed no distress due to the alk drop. But from my experience with doing almost the same thing, is to just take it slow bringing it back up. If it went down slow, which it did, then slow back up give time for things to adjust. Our little critters can usually adjust to slow changes, its the fast ones that hurt.
