Alk Dosing question

Is it possible to be dosing 70 ml a day just to keep up with Alk..I was doing 50ml for the last couple days and it never holds up ,
every morning i check it and its at 136 i like to run 150 so i have to turn the pumps on dose another 83ml just to get it back up .

So i went from 50ml a day to 70ml.. Do I need to go more or should i go slow like this ..also im running my pump from midnight to 7am Is that the best time

well i got the 120 plus the 30 g frag tank which the frag tank is 24x24 and no lid

I do go thru 10 gallons week top off water and I also have a kalk stirrer,Im wondering if i should just get rid of the kalkwasser all together?
It dont seem to be helping


SHould i keep the kalk or just go with 2 part only

If you have alot of sps it is possible that may be the reason for the depletion. What is your calcium and magnesium at? If they are not in balance it will cause alk. to fall.

Calcium was low this morning at 420

Mag 1250


So i bumped up Cal to 450
and up its 30 ml a day to 50 ml a day

Your fine. Completely normal. Mixed reef and I dose 50ml alkalinity daily. I have presently have 13 SPS', among other things.

Im using BRS stuff,

I up to 80ml a day and its been keeping it right at 150 and my ph swings like from 8.0 to 8.3 per day,which i think is ok.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Just test often and make any changes as needed.

I was dosing 60 mls. a day with ny new doser and my alk. Jumped up to 300. Same dosage when i dosed manually but i changed products. And have lots of Sps and Lps. So be carefull.

I was using baking soda but figured BRS is same stuff so giving it a try and its been about 2 weeks now

Wow 300 Did anything die? I check every morning which is probably way to much to be checking,but it gives me something to do,also the Hanna and the Red sea kit are dead on with each other..Yea i go thru a bottle of the hanna stuff every month but heck its only 10 bucks,I think its worth 10 bucks for a couple months to see if Im on track, but having this apex is so nice ,I cant believe ive been 3 years without it,...but with them graphs in the Apex im able to tell when i should be dosing. I just spreaded it out some more tonight to dose from 10 pm to 7am alk,and from 9am to 3 pm cal..I just love the app and now got my camera set up. waiting for another energy bar to come in to finish adding more stuff..

I also put a stop in if ph gets above 8.3 for Alk since it raises it some i thought that would help..
