I have never used the product but the instructions say

1ml/6.5 gallons contributes 0.176 meq/L convert that to 0.495 dKH

going to assume your 32 gallon biocube has 25 gallons of water so

1ml/25 gallons contributes 0.129 dKH you added 4ml so multiply that by 4 give you 0.5148 dKH

You could also use the calculator that Randy posted
22gallons of water volume roughly in display so sump and all I’d say close to 25 yes

After 5 gallon water change my params are way diff now 460 calc, 10dkh

I get what you are saying for someone advanced like yourself

But for me the simplicity of pouring a liquid into a container of say 10 ML and raising my ALK exactly .2 DKH
Literally the easiest and simplest most accurate equation that i know of?

Is it more expensive ....... yes its not cheap . But its a price i will pay to finally get accurate ALK dosing every single time
I’m confused. Why are other brands not accurate to dose?

I didnt say other brands arent accurate haha

I am saying this one i am using is very accurate .

There can be other brands that are accurate as well but why would i want to use those when i already use an accurate product ?

I think your API testing is sending you on a wild goose chase.
The math did not make sense to me either.
We need a stable baseline to start.

Ok, but it certainly comes across as a claim of better accuracy.

Reef crystals

I think either the salinity is higher than 35 ppt, sg = 1.0264, or the test kit is reading high. Reef Crystals is not typically that high.

by this definition of a more excellent or effective type or quality. Yes i would say it is better

I have dosed this varying amounts from 5ml to 15ml at a time and it does what it says it does on every test the next day . So i guess when i say its better accuracy ........ the real question is how can you claim its not the best ?

What is better ?????

I still don’t even understand the claim. You think other alk additives do not add what they claim every time you add them?

Lets make it simple

Product A ) simple dosing instructions and doses at 100% accuracy every time verified by tests

How would this product not be the best ? How could you best this to be better?

Sure maybe product B) or product C) does the same thing but they would not be better they would be the same not worse not better you could also call product B or C the best

See what im saying ?? make sense ?

I’m confused why you would want to, unless calcium is ALREADY above your target level and you want it to decline, but if you want to, add just enough of the alk part to maintain stable alkalinity at your target, like any alk supplement.
This calculator may be useful:

Randy,
I am trying to use the calculator but no products are coming up?
I am currently using SeaChem Fusion2 for my Alk product. I am wanting to change to BRS Soda Ash solution and am looking to see what the calculator says for the two products.
Thank you

Works for me right now.

Clicking on "Pick a product" does not give you a menu of products?
