ao trying g to stabilize new tank. Is it oossicke that I am dropping 1.2 sky oer day with only handful of hermit crabs and 2 soft corals and 2lps frags. I am not trusting g test results. (Hanna checker). I seem to be fighting keeping it up at same time don’t want to over dose. After I did at 8.3 dkh. By time I get home from work it is like 7.1. It is new reagents but old tester. Thanks

man your frags are thursty! Jk, your checker is way off, I would go to the LFS and get it checked. You would have to have like a 5 gallon tank and those frags would have to be pretty big to consume that much. If it is accurate, check your CAL, it should be going up and down about the same, if so, then you MAG is pretty low. If none of that is true, than your checker is off.

Thanks I did not check mag yet since was hoping to figure this out first but understand they are all related. Cal is up and down as well but I was leaning towards the test kite being off. They are Hanna checkers that been In Storage for a couple years but I did get new reagents. Maybe user error Lol.

User preference, but keeping MAG around 1350 should help stabilize your swings. Make sure you are testing ALK the same time every day, as ALK swings gradually throughout the day naturally.
