I'm trying to test daily for the next few days to track my Alk loss also and yesterday I was at 9.0dKH and today I was at 8.4dKH.

Some tanks might drop 4 dKH in a single day without dosing. I don't think that drop is going to hurt any corals. Stabilizing around 7.5 dKH sounds like a fine plan.
