Hi everyone one of my auto dosing lines for alakalinty became lose at the pump when I filled my ato reservoir. Since then it hasn’t been dosing any alkalinity, just pumping air. My alk has dropped to 6.2 before I caught it. Since it was water change day anyway I did a bigger water change of about 20% and added a little alk to pump it up by about .5. Now my question is should i just keep slowly increasing it everyday by .5ish until I get up to the 8.0 I try to keep it at? And will this have any lasting effects on any coral? I didn’t notice any effects on the coral before but wasn’t sure if I will or if I caught this mistake in time. Any help and advice is appreciated, thanks!

Okay that’s what I thought I might just slowly increase over the week since the auto doser will keep it level now. And yeah I inspected corals and didn’t see any that seemed stress. But I’ve heard of people lose colonies from all swings so just thought I would ask. Thanks though!:)

It happened to me mines was actually really high and the water change dropped it too fast but we live and learn

I delt with this from a bad Hanna checker Alk reagent, tried two differnet kits low and behold the reagent was bad. I have a mixed reef with acros, I did just what you did raised. 5 each day with esv alk part. You will be just fine.
