Most people, including myself, use them 24/7.
To a first approximation, adding GFO won't impact either one. GAC definitely does not.
I would just monitor the calcium and alkalinity a few days after adding the GFO and GAC and verify that it is OK.
In some cases of using GFO, there is increased demand for calcium and alkalinity due to precipitation and possibly increased coral calcification. GFO can become coated with precipitated calcium carbonate, possible catalyzed by released iron ions.
