Hi there, my water test as follows using the red sea reef foundations pro kit.

Alk 8.7
Calcium 400
Mag 1160

It is my understanding a high alk correlates to a high pH and 8.7 is high right? Should be 7.6-8.2 right? How do I raise pH and lower then keep my alk to a better position.

Any magnesium supplement recommendations.

I do wc's every week and do not dose. Tank coral heavy softys and euphylia. Thanks in advance.

pH is controlled by alkalinity and the carbon dioxide level. High alk does not mean high pH.

pH 7.8 is OK. Raising it involves somehow reducing carbon dioxide levels:

Thanks! I totally forgot about carbon dioxide affectimg my pH. Ill open a window and see what happens.
