As title says, I messed up my auto doser and have been dosing too much all so now it’s 15dkH (life got busy so haven’t tested in about a month)

Using Hannah checker and tested 2x.

How should I get it down, I use about .8 dKH in my mixed reef 50 gal. Just let it drop or should I do a water change with Ocean Crystals (orange) now? Already lost 1 sps to RTN today and lost a 20 head dragon soul to brown jelly last week.

What are the rest of your parameters? Any idea how long it’s been there? Do daily water changes until it’s down where you want it.

I went to 14 once, some time ago, without any deleterious effects on corals.
You have few options:
  • partial water change
  • Vinegar
  • muriatic acid
  • just wait
With an exception of last solution, you need to drop alkalinity slowly, perhaps 0.5-1.0 dKH/day.
I presume that you had it for longer, so your corals are used to somewhat higher Alkalinity, but that depends on what are your nutrients(Nitrates/phosphates).
BTW, I chose partial water change and wait and my corals are thriving.

Will prob do a 10% tomorrow and then let it drop naturally

You have options but alk works with Calcium and acts as a stimulant for ph. Verify those numbers are in the norm.
To Lower, 10% daily water changes are effective as is waiting for corals to absorb it.
While cheap vinegar works, it also affects PH levels.
