I have API and the API test is showing 9 kh, but I took my water sample to the local coral folks and the red sea pro test kit showed a horrible 6.5 Calc was testing at 500 API tested at 520, Phospate tested barely above 0 on API it tested at .03 with them. Nitrates (I dose) tested at .4 API showed barely above 0 so it fits. Everything but KH is reconcilable, but what kit should I get? Local coral shop wanted me to get a red sea pro kit, but I'm cheap haha! Also; what is the best stuff to dose for Alk?

Alk Hanna
Phosphate Hanna UL Phosphorus.
All else Salifert.
API….Ph…if you follow that.
Best bang for your buck IME.

Here's what I use and am fairly happy with:

Hanna Alk
Hanna Ca
Hanna ULR Phosphate
Nyos Nitrate
Tropic Marine High-precision Hydrometer (Hanna Salinity Checker for quick Salinity and Temp reads )
GHL probe for pH

I also use GHL stuff for automation.

I would also recommend you look at balanced dosing to keep all your paremeters inline with natural salt water.
