Alk mixing question

Im about to mix up some alk for dosing. I want to only mix up 16 ounces I have a small tank and I have a 16 ounce mixing container. I’m using a recipe that says two cups of soda ash per gallon of rodi. Can I cut that down? The math comes out to a 1/4 cup per 16 ounces.
