I recently have been focused on my tank upgrade and have been neglecting my current tank somewhat. so this weekend I tested alk and it was 7.4 mine is usualy around 10. well i turned on my doser through apex and let it run for 30 min. then got on apex and cut it off. well there was a lag time somewhere and it stayed on and emptied my alk container. I retested it and it was 14. all my sps were fine. put the hammers, frogspawns, torch were not fully extended. but my jf jackolantern leto was completely white. should i do small water changes to level it back out or just leave it and let the corals use it up. like i said all sps seem fine. green slimmers polyps are not out as much as usual. but will be fine. I have automatic water changer that changes about .75 gph that i could leave on and let it slowly bring it down. a plus side to that is I need to empty my saltwater resivor, because i need to move it to opposite side of room.

The reason why they are stressed is because of the huge jump in alk in the short amount of time. If I were you I would do some water changes to bring it down to the normal range, but don't bring it down too fast.

I did a small change yesterday and today it was 11.8 today after second change. I'll probaly just let the corals use it from hear. They have been using it up quickly I had my alk doser tuning every hr for 5 min and that didn't keep up. So I probaly just turn my scheduled all doses back on once I'm back in normal range
