Had my weekly water change last Tuesday. Have been noticing a whitish grey kind of color all over my rock work. Looks like ash. So I’ve been looking around and read that it most likely is alkalinity precipitation in my tank. How does one go about removing this? Or how does one stop this from happening again? I’m finally taking care of the Cyanobacteria and now these happens. I did turn off my uv sterilizer and protein skimmer to treat the Cyano so maybe that’s one reason for it but have turned that off after the first airing of the alk.

And also run tests and tell you guys the readings if everything in my tank.
