ALK Spike--Coral looking bad

Hi Everyone,

I made a mistake and left a doser on that was dosing Soda Ash. It basically put a month worth of it into the tank in a couple of days. Nothing died, but everything browned out and is recovering--its been a month and nothing has grown.

What I am equally concerned about is how much of the ALK was absorbed by my sand and Rock and whether I need to replace both.

Parameters are back to normal:

ALK 9
CA 400
PH 8.4
Salinity 1.025

Sorry to hear of the problems, but there’s no issue about alk sticking to rock and sand. Any calcium carbonate that precipitated (if any) is essentially just more rock.
