Today I got an alarm from my Trident that ALK had gone from a steady 8.5 to 11 suddenly! I shut off my DOS through Fusion, and drove home like a madman and raced down to my tank. The ALK levels in the container were exactly where they should have been, so the tank didn’t suddenly get a whack of ALK added. Has anyone experienced this? I’ve been using Trident controller dosing, and everything has been really stable.

I did once. I reset my alk out alarm while at work and forgot to change later. About a week later it spiked and cal and mag dropped. Lesson learned on resetting alarms. I don't use it for dosing, my calcium reactor runs off of apex and ph was steady so I calmed until I got home and figured out what was goinng on.

Apex will shut down dosing if levels measure above the safety point anyhow. Trident can behave strangely as the reagents get low. Usually Ca, but maybe alk too.

My ALK showed a higher level on Fusion than was actually in the bottle, so that was screwing up the readings. Changed it, and levels are back to normal. That’s a relief!
