my alkalinity has been pretty steady around 8.2-8.4 and this morning when I tested it was 10. I use a Hanna checker. I retested with a salifert kit and it also registered 10. My Ca is 450. I dose 2 part. Should I unplug the doser and allow the Alk to fall? What could cause the Alk to increase by almost 2 over 24hrs when the dosage never changed. Thanks for the help.

Doser malfunction possibly. What dosing pump are you using?

BRS...I have checked them this morning and the calibration is the same

I would unplug the doses till it drops someimes it just takes a but to get it dialed in, I had the same issue I went from dosing 16ml yeah not alot it' all zoa tank anyways I ended up dialing it in at 7ml and it stays stable

You could also drop the dose amount on one dosing time. If not two.
It’ll help narrow down the correct amount.

So I just tested again at my normal testing time and Alk was back to 8.3. I have no idea? I tested with two different test kits, Hanna and salifert. #scratchingmyhead
