Alk spike.

Recently my alk has spiked to 16-18 dkh. I hand dose tropic marine every couple days, but I haven't dosed since the spike. Tank is 45g with 20g sump. I've done 2 10g water changes. Yet it's still high? Ca is at 400. What do I do to bring my akh down? I've moved all SPS to a friends tank to try to minimize loss.

I am assuming that the tropic marine that you are dosing is a two-part? The only way to bring it down is to do water changes or wait it out. Obviously the water changes will lower it faster. I would also check your magnesium to make sure things are not precipitating out when you dose.
