so my alk is maintained around 9. I’ve tried to lower my calcium and can’t. Currently it’s sitting at 578 according to my Hanna checker and hasn’t been lower than 530 in a week. I’m at a loss on what to do. Can anyone help in any way?

How are you maintaining your alkalinity level? Also note that calcium depletes more slowly than alkalinity.

Dosing BRS soda ash. Stopped dosing calcium completely two weeks ago and no changes

What does this mean? Have you tried doing a water change? Testing your new saltwater to make sure it has a lower cal 2pm than your tank while matching all and mag levels.
Yes I’ve done a 30 gallon and two 10 gallon water changes. Tank is 50 gallons, and calcium crept back up. I have no idea how. Mag last night was at 1300

I'm wondering what rock you started your tank with? I think I have read something about people using a certain kind of rock and having problems.

I think you mag is a bit low.

Magnesium at any level cannot explain lack of calcium decline. Most likely it is just that the salt mix is adding a lot and the demand for both alk andcekcium is low enough that it declines very slowly. Alk always drops faster on a percentage basis.
