Alk swing from adding more water volume?

Total system volume at the moment is roughly 70g, and will be adding another 50g.

I currently run my Alk around 8, but the new tank will be filled with Reef Crystals (11-12). Any ideas how that will impact my Alk? Is there a way to lower the alk of the freshly made saltwater?

Due to a doser mishap my ALk spiked from a stable 8.5 DKH to 14 DKH. (running triton method BTW) I stopped dosing everything. Its been about 1.5 weeks and my ALK seems to have plateaued at 10.5 DKH. Despite not dosing anything it doesnt seem to be going any lower. My plan is to lower it using...
