Can anyone shed some light on an issue I'm having.
So I setup a new frag tank. Used 50% of established water from my old tank + 50% fresh saltwater. Everything was good.
Was good and stable from day 1-5
Day 5 my params looked good so I added my corals back in.
Params for that day were as followed:
1.022, pH 8.2, dKH 9.7-10, calcium 500
Next day parameters:
1.023, pH 8.2, dKH 11.5-12, calcium 480
I test all my parameters with Hanna Instruments
Any ideas on what the heck happened here?
Got co2 bubbles also, and a bit of brown algae but I scraped it.
Im not sure if a nitrogen cycle was triggered? Last time I did a tank turnover, this didn't happen.
The coral inside don't seem too stressed (mostly acropora and LPS, few zoas). Nor the single fish inside. No apparent necrosis on the acropora. Some have polyp extension and others don't.
Thanks for the support.
