Either it’s a bad reagent or the tester is failing .
I am leaning against trusting Hanna alk tester

back to salifert or aqua forest ?
is one more reliable or accurate ?

What experience is leading you to this concern? Hanna reading higher or lower than you expected? Getting a different measurment than on other test kits? I've been using the Hanna for several months now, but I haven't tried to "calibrate" against other kits.

Did you try a new battery? The “bad batt” code is not always accurate and I’ve found putting in a new battery solves the problem.

Measurements are higher . Without dosing . Measured with salifert and it’s closer to expected .
With the amount of coralline , there is no way alk should be higher but expecting significantly lower without dosing .
I have not dosed anything for this reason .

I use the hanna alk to adjust triton dosing, target 8 dkh.
Hanna dropped to 5 over 2 weeks, as i increased dosing trying to maintain 8.
Finally bought red sea and was at 11 dkh.
Bought a new one as they are very convenient.
But the egg did fail.

When I did my weekly tests yesterday, I was concerned my Alk per Hanna was too low. All the coral I have are small frags, but I do have a lot of coralline.

After reading your post, I retested using an API kit (I know, I know, I know). I was relieved it read the same as the hanna.

I confirme my Hanna was inaccurate after both api and salifert were the same . 7.5 dkh
Hanna said 145ppm my target is 134ppm ( 7.5dkh )
