Alk to low?

Sup guys wanted to know if I should bring my alk to around 8 or so…apex trident says it’s 7.23 Hanna checker says 7.7……..everything is tank seems happy it’s mixed reef tank waterbox 130.4

NSW is 7 so if your tank is happy why mess with a good thing?

I like to keep mine 8-8.5. I sometimes dips to 7.8 but I just add lil more esv. Up to like 35 ml a day to keep it within range. Using more as things fill in.

alk has been going lower lately I am doseing all for reef 14 mls a day I might have to add more…..

Never rely on any single test kit or test result. If your no3 and po4 are on the low end then lower alk is desirable.

Nice tank. As the system matures the consumption rate will increase. Just b mindful the Ca and Mg are at the top range. Just keep it stable and balanced. Try not

The cal mag numbers are wroung I just recalibrated the apex trident this morning…it has not tested water yet

yea I haveing coralline algae takeong over everything… assuming why alk consumption is going up

You got some lps in there as well, they'll suck up ca, mag and alk. Your numbers are in a good range, just monitor and adjust your dose slowly.

Yea my lps are growing good for some reason my recodea mushrooms are dieing…don’t understand why other than that everything in tank is growing…i also don’t directly feed corals

What are your nitrate and phosphate numbers?
