Afternoon all,

So I am fairly new to the apex world, however I have the trident and have been monitoring my alk vs calcium usage for the last 3-4 weeks. and what I'm finding is that i'm using much more alk than I am calcium. I understand enough to realize that my calcium drops at a much slower rate than my alk does. With that being said i'm actively dosing alk to keep my alk roughly at 8.5. I only dose once a week. I use roughly 1dkh a week. My calcium somewhat bounces around. It goes from 440 down to 430ish then it'll bounce back up. I'm at a loss, my mg is very very slow as well, but the trend is more downward where I can at least tell its being consumed. I have a mixed reef. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

1 dKH a week consumed by calcification corresponds to consumption of only 6 ppm of calcium. Your device is unlikely to be able to detect that accurately, and with such a very, very low demand, very minor things impact the demand ratio to a big degree, such as water changes, changes in nitrate levels, etc.

Great! Thank you. I kinda figured thats what it was, but I wanted to make sure! That makes me feel better.
