Do you guys think 12 ALK is good for a mix reef tank or it is high? I use redsea black bucket salt

Imo high but does everything look good and happy in your tank if so I wouldn’t worry that much . Does the salt bucket give you a Alk level on it when mixed . Some other members will chime in and give advice

They say alk should be 8-12 (7 is also possible but kind of iffy since you have no room for error on the lower side). So yes it can be fine, however do acclimate the corals a bit more. The majority of people run it from 8-10 from what I’ve read.

How do I lower the level down? Should I switch to the redsea blue bucket? Or stir away from red sea and get tropic marin salt?

What does your bucket say? Usually it has values on it @ 1025 salinity. You can let it naturally come down. Again, 12 isn't anything bad or worrying. 7-12 is very normal.

Is your water actually 12 alk, or are you reading the label which says it mixes at 12?

I use that salt, my alk is about 8.8, its never gotten up to 12. I would not want it at 12 personally.
