Hello

I am doing alkalinity with. Neptune dos
I noticed that the alkalinity doest really dissolve and it look alike a snow very often. And I just noticed like it was attached to my glas in the sump, it isn't hard , no need to scrub it, it is like a snow or dust.

Why is it happening?

What brand of Alk part are you using? I don't have this problem. I mix the mixture in a 1-gallon jug and that will last me months.

It is normal to see a temporary precipitate of magnesium hydroxide when dosing high pH alkalinity additives. it should redissolve as it mixes in.

What is that Precipitate in My Reef Aquarium? by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com

Figure 3. The transient cloud of magnesium hydroxide that forms when high pH additives are added. In this case, the alkalinity portion of B-ionic was added to a fairly still portion of one of my reef aquaria.
