Alkalinity dosing?

Hi everyone just wondering what you guys suggest to get alk up? Kalkwasser in the ATO? I’m a little low at 6.6 in my Waterbox reef 100g.

I'd bring it up slowly to where you want it with an alk additive and then maintain with Kalk. What is you're coral load? Mainly SPS, mixed, etc. ?

Agreed with above. Get your DKH where you desire with Soda Ash then maintain with Kalk. Then test every other day to make sure your Kalk is maintaining your DKH.

I like kalk in the ATO, it will be less effective in larger tanks because they don't lose as much water as a proportion of volume. Also if you have a lot of coral you won't be able to get enough kalk in. Otherwise it's cheap and easy.

It’s mixed reef, I just don’t like that chalky mix of residue in my ATO especially when it’s visible in my ATO build in the sump.

You can use a kalk stirrer to potentially mitigate this problem. I use an avast k2.
