So I started dosing kalkwasser late last week. I've been testing my alkalinity and calcium every day since. My calcium has been around 395-400. My alkalinity has been between 8.2 and 8.7, depending on the time of day. Is this normal for the alk to fluctuate that much and is that something I should be concerned about? Thanks

yes. That is pretty typical . Doser will keep your tank stable . Best purchase I made for my tank was GHL doser .

That’s probably not especially unusual for an ato based system. A dosing pump might allow better daily and time of day control.
Thanks for the response. I'm hoping that it will be stable enough to start getting good growth on the coral I have and to get the coraline to take off again. It's been at a standstill for a while now. I have softies and some lps and will be maybe adding a few easy sps soon. I'm currently mixing the kalk at 2 tsp for every 5 gallons of rodi.
