Baking soda, 2 cups per gallon. Dose small amounts to bring up alkalinity using the reef chemistry calculator. At that low level you're in the danger zone for stony corals, so raising it, slowly, as soon as possible is critical if you have stony corals in your aquarium.
BUt its funny my hanna is reading 102ppm and my redsea kit reads 6.1 is this close to matchingAgreed, I don't use the tip either. That RHF is probably still the best article out there for dosing our reefs.
I have had the same exact problem. Makes you wonder which test kit is correct.
Just be carefull and raise slowly. Large increases in alk. can be harmfull.
Do you think i did to much already..That is why i stopped right there I went up 1.2 in about 6 hours so I will leave it be for a couple days.
Are you using red sea coral pro, or red sea salt? The regular red sea is not high in alk. I use the red sea coral pro and do weekly 20 gallon changes, I don't sea a noticeable change in my alk after the water change. I keep my alk at 8.
