Alkalinity Question

Hi everyone,

I have a fish only aquarium.

Can someone please tell me how to raise the pH without raising the alkalinity? I have sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate. How does a high alkalinity affect fish?

Also how do very high phosphates affect fish?

There’s no additive that boosts pH and not alkalinity. More aeration with low CO2 air will do it.

What is the alkalinity? It may be low.
